About
The Full Story
Stafford Players come from all backgrounds and all walks of life - from teachers to charity workers to home makers to retirees, we are a fabulously diverse bunch! We stage three plays a year, usually in the Malcolm Edwards Theatre (the MET) but sometimes on the main Gatehouse Theatre stage. Whilst all amateurs, we often are congratulated on the professional nature of our productions.

Not everyone has previous experience. Some did lots of drama at school, some even continued their education in the field and some come and throw themselves in to a show with no experience at all! Everyone is welcome to come and get involved either on the stage or behind it. Our valuable backstage team are an essential part of each production.

Outside of the main programme, we stage Murder Mysteries at local venues - perfect for that corporate or team event! These are so much fun and great if you are not currently involved with a main production. We also have a vibrant social calendar of play readings, casual drinks, walks and organised outings such as ten-pin bowling and theatre trips. We like to have as much fun off the stage as on it!

There are so many ways to get involved whether on stage, backstage, in the audience, murder mysteries and more. Just get in touch and we will look forward to meeting you!
